Louisiana Ranked the 3rd Safest State For Kids Online
Twelve cyberbullying and sexting laws on the books isn’t the only reason Louisiana earns praise for being the third safest state for kids online: Louisiana also has low internet crimes against children rates and low malware attack rates.

Internet Crimes Against Children
Only about nine kids per 100,000 children under 20 fall victim to internet crime in Louisiana.
Two people per 100,000 people fall victim to malware in Louisiana, lower than many other states.
Internet Service Providers analyzed four data points to determine how safe a state is for kids online: internet crimes against children (40%), internet crime victims (25%), cyberbullying and sexting laws (25%), and malware crime victims (10%).
We used the Federal Bureau of Investigation Internet Crime Complaint Center to obtain information by state on internet crimes against children, internet crimes victims, and malware crime victims.
We used United States Census Data to compare the above to each state’s population under twenty-years-old.
